With 20 years of industry experience, our Director, Michael O’Brien, launched Home of Mortgages in 2013 to serve his growing client base of business owners, property developers, and investors seeking new financial solutions for their businesses.
By the time the team had expanded to 12 finance professionals supporting residential homeowners and investors across the UK, it became clear that the demand for insurance was not being served. This led to the launch of Home of Insurance in 2024.
Kerri Baker, our insurance advisor specialised in general and business insurance, and Jude Johnson-Bentley, a specialist in property insurance, are the experts in our team, with the knowledge to recommend the best insurance option for your unique situation.

Kerri has been working in the Financial Services Industry for over 16 years, having joined Home of Mortgages in 2015 after gaining extensive experience in corporate finance and mortgage compliance within a major mortgage network.
Initially serving as our Senior Mortgage Administrator, Kerri has since transitioned into the role of Insurance Advisor for our Home of Insurance brand, where she specialises in personal and business insurance.
Kerri is extremely passionate about ensuring every client she works with has a personal experience, carefully seeking the right insurance solutions tailored to their family needs and financial goals. She believes that having a thorough conversation about personal and business insurance is crucial, as it helps protect what matters most and ensures peace of mind for the future.
Outside of work, Kerri is a devoted mum to her children Ella, Ronnie, and Forrest Gump—her lively and energetic puppy!

With over 37 years of experience as an insurance broker, Jude was a specialist in personal and commercial policies to fully protect her clients. She was making sure that premises, assets, and operations were covered while also offering life and critical illness insurance options.
Her passion for insurance is evident - a conversation with her will swiftly convince you of the importance of having, at least, life protection. Having experienced firsthand the peace of mind that coverage brings when the unexpected happens, she passionately advocates for its importance.
Surprisingly presented with a job offer, Jude transitioned to a mortgage administration career, accepting a new challenge. In 2021 she joined the Home of Mortgage team, quickly becoming a great support for the brokers.
Jude prides herself on being a people person, bonding with clients as if they were long-time friends, and celebrating with them when their mortgage is approved.
Besides working hard to get mortgages approved and learning about lenders' processes, Jude loves spending time with her beautiful grandson. She also enjoys American cars and drag racing. On weekends, you can find Jude shopping with friends and family.

It’s a joy to promote Home of Mortgages, its fresh brand, identity and vision. But what makes me happier about this role is knowing that whatever I promote, the clients will receive way more because the team really over-delivers.
When I am not working or playing with new AI technologies, you can find me riding my bike, at a rock concert or watching a movie with my daughter.
